I haven't read the complete book yet, but am very interested in this topic and want to engage in the fight to save small business before it is too late. I am perplexed that excessive corporate power has not become and election time issue so far; would like to mobilize to make sure it becomes and issue for the 2008 election season. Would like to see significant steps take to limit the power of large corporations and once again hold them more accountable. Perhaps the biggest problem facing small business is the barbaric greed of many landlords, who will do anything to up the rent to the point that many indies are forced to close because they can't afford it. Just as many steps have been taken so that many more people can own their own homes, maybe it's time for governments to take steps so that more small business owners can also own the property, so that they are not at the mercy of greedy landlords.
