It makes absolutely no sense at all and I cannot support Kindle for this reason. If Amazon is going to create something that huge, it should FLEX. not asking for the ability to roll it up to swat a fly, but it should flex in such a way it can tolerate slight bending...so it should use a tough rubber casing instead of the heard plastic with metal backing. the new DX is, IMO, ill-conceived.
